The Friends of the Oxford Free Public Library was formed and incorporated in 1992 with the purpose of maintaining a membership of people who are supportive of the library, to focus public attention to library services, facilities, and needs; to stimulate gifts of books, magazines, collections, endowments and bequests, and to communicate the needs of the community to the staff and the library trustees.

We are a non-profit (501C) group whose purpose are exclusively set forth in section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.

Membership in our organization is open to all individuals who are sympathetic to our purpose.  Paid members are only eligible to vote and each member is entitled to one vote.  There is no absentee or proxy voting.

Our board consists of a President, Secretary/Membership Secretary, and Treasurer whose term is two years.  Nominations are made at our yearly meetings.
