Marylou will be performing and presenting the songs and stories of pioneering female musicians & songwriters of the 20th century.
Featuring blues women such as Memphis Minnie, country star Wanda Jackson, also known as Queen of Rockabilly. Southern female banjo players such as Cousin Emmy along with American folk women, Sarah & Maybelle, of the Carter family as well as other artists.
Marylou Ferrante is a local, Massachusetts multi-instrumentalist who performs country blues, traditional old time & folk music on guitar, mandolin and banjo. Her performances are filled with history and storytelling. Marylou was described by music critic and writer, Daniel Gewertz, in the Boston Herald, as Bay State’s finest female blues interpreter.
