EBOOKS to be available

The Oxford Library will be changing the catalog and circulation software (EVERGREEN) over Memorial Day weekend. During that time there will be no access to the catalog, but there will still be access to the EBOOK catalog at http://digitalcatalog.cwmars.org/

CHANGES AT THE LIBRARY

Over Memorial Day weekend the C/WMars network, including the Oxford Public Library, will be change the online catalog and circulation system. There are of few things you need to know before these changes are made.

Wish lists and reading histories will not migrate to the new system. If you have a wish list or reading history, print or export it soon. (Prior to May 25.)
From May 25 to May 28, you will not have access to your C/WMars Patron account.
When you login to the new catalog on May 29, your old password will not work. Your NEW password will be your last name typed in all UPPER CASE.
The Oxford Library will be closed the Memorial day weekend. We will reopen Tuesday, May 29 with a whole new circulation system!

EXTENSION OF AMNESTY MONTH!!!

The Oxford Public Library has decided yo extend Amnesty Month through MAY! Have you been waiting all year to return those library books? You have another month to return them. Bring back those summer reading books before school lets out.

Remember though that amnesty only applies to Oxford Library items.

JUNE BOOK GROUP

The next book group meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 6th at 6:30 in the Oxford Library Reading Room. The book pick for June is The Gazebo by Emily Grayson. The May book group meeting was very lively, we had a great discussion! If you are interested, please come join us for the June book group. There are copies of the book available at the 1st floor circulation desk. Any questions please ask Brenna or call 508-987-6003.

Reminder: In July and August we will be meeting in the libraries basement meeting room because we expect a larger group during the summer months.

APRIL IS AMNESTY MONTH

Q: What is Amnesty month?

A: We usually hold Amnesty month in April. It means that you can return books and other Oxford Items with no overdue fines!

Q: Why are there still fines on my card?

A: We can not waive fines from other libraries or past due fines. We can only wave the fines on items that are returned during Amnesty month, and are Oxford items.

What are databases?

Databases are resources that give you the same type of information that you can find in books, but you can use a database anytime, anywhere. Just log into our website and click on our resources page! You can read the newspaper, read a magazine, or even work on that school paper that is due tomorrow. Check us out!

Downloading Ebooks

On Monday, March 26, starting at 7:00, there will be a brief interruption in downloading ebooks from our digital catalog. Our provider will be doing maintenance, and will return service as soon as possible.

Spring Children’s Programs

The April children’s programs have now been posted. Registration for these programs will begin Thursday, March 22 in the Children’s Room.

In May, the library will once again offer children’s music programs taught by an instructor from the Apple Tree Arts music school. Registration for the classes will begin Wednesday, April 11 in the Children’s Room. These programs are generously funded through a grant from the Janet Malser Humanities Trust.

EREADERS AVAILABLE AT THE OXFORD LIBRARY

Ever wonder what was so exciting about ereaders? Borrow one of the library’s four Kindles and see what all the excitement is about!

Just a few things to remember:

Your library card is required to borrow an ereader.
Loan period is 3 weeks / no renewals.
Ereaders must be returned in person to the first floor circulation desk.

Please stop by the first floor circulation desk or call the library at 508-987-6003 ext.3. We can take reservations over the computer.
